HIV Prevention in Maternal Health Services: Training Guide provides a series of activities designed to build the capacity of program managers and staff to offer integrated HIV and STI services for pregnant and postpartum clients within their particular service-delivery setting. The guide's general objectives are to ensure that trainees develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to help clients assess their own needs for a range of HIV and STI services, information, and emotional support, to provide clear and correct information appropriate to clients' identified concerns and needs, to assist clients in making their own voluntary and informed decisions about HIV and STI risk reduction, and to help clients develop the skills they will need to carry out those decisions.
