This is a written account of one Peace Corps Volunteers experience with using Legs to enable impregnated mosquito nets to be used both indoors as well as outdoors.

The Technical Reference Materials (TRMs) are a product of USAID's Bureau for Global Health.  An attempt has been made to keep the language simple to encourage translation for use as a field document.  Sections include: 1) Situational Analysis, 2) Malaria Standard Case Management, 3) Malaria in Pregnancy, and 4) ITNs.

      This handbook contains resources developed in conjunction with the government of Zambia’s initiative to combat malaria, more specifically, to prevent the disease through the sale and use of insecticide treated mosquito nets. An initial donation of nets was provided by the United States Agency for International Development, and a rotating fund was established for the immediate purpose of cost recovery and the long-term goal of sustainability of the prevention measure.

This module discusses malaria transmission and prevention and parasite transmission, prevention and treatment for caregivers. The lesson plans teach caregivers how to recognize and prevent the transmission of parasitic diseases in children.
