This pamphlet outlines the steps in the SODIS method for disinfecting water and provides facts and statistics on both its effectiveness and prevalence.  Also included are names of institutions supporting SODIS in Latin America, as well as cooperating partners in future planned implementation projects.

How to do SODIS (5 steps):  1. Obtain clear plastic (PET) bottles and wash them well; 2. Fill the bottles with raw water; 3. Place the bottles on a sunny place for 6 hours; 4. If the weather is cloudy, expose the bottles for 2 consecutive days; 5. Let the water cool down and drink it from a clean glass.
